Tasks

Auditee closes the loop.

An audit finding becomes an owned task with a deadline, required photographic evidence and an approval gate — and every state change is on the record. No audit needed, either: managers can create tasks by hand, so Auditee also works on its own as a task management app for your teams.

Create organization Where tasks come from

Anatomy

One unit of work, assigned to one person or one team.

There is no draft state. Save the task and it is Open and assigned.

Location
Free text, a coordinate or a Maps link — rendered as a live “Check in Google Maps” link.
Completion requirements
Require file attachment and Require photo. Submission is blocked until they are satisfied.
Assignment
A person, or a team resolved as Anyone can complete or Everyone must complete.
Review
Require review plus a named reviewer.
Deadline
With its own time zone, or none at all. Three reminder windows, the same as audits.

The review gate

Somebody has to say the fix is good enough.

With review switched on, a submission lands in Awaiting review and the named reviewer gets exactly two actions. That is the whole interface, deliberately.

Approve

The evidence stands up. The task closes with a permanent record of who submitted it, what they attached and who accepted it.

Reassign

It does not. The task reopens, every member resets to pending, and the reviewer is prompted for a new deadline. Nothing is quietly lost in between.

A reviewer can be an auditor or a reviewer of the assignee team, never an auditee of it. Nobody approves their own team’s work by accident.

Lifecycle

Nine statuses, enforced on the server.

Transitions are checked in the API, not merely hidden in the interface.

The assignee’s side is tiny on purpose

Start Task, then Send for Review or Complete depending on whether review is on. Put On Hold and Decline appear only when the task allows them, each with an optional reason. No training needed.

Origins

Four ways a task appears.

1

By hand

Organization admins and auditors create tasks within the teams they manage. No audit required.

2

From an audit rule

Predefined or auditee-reported, one task per rule per round.

3

From a template

The same template engine the audits use, for work that recurs in the same shape.

4

By duplication

Copies the shape and the reference materials, never the assignee, history, evidence or comments.

How a rule mints a task

Evidence

What was reviewed stays reviewable.

Photos as JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 5 MB; documents as PDF only, up to 10 MB. Content type is sniffed from the file itself, never taken from the browser’s claim, and SVG is refused everywhere because it is a scripting vector.

Collaboration

One thread, and a full activity log.

A single comment thread spans the manager view and the assignee view. Anyone who can see the task can post, including on closed tasks, because the conversation about why something failed outlives the task.

How many of last quarter’s findings were actually fixed?

If the answer takes a spreadsheet and three emails to work out, that is the problem worth solving.
